Cancer Cottage – Youtube Channel

I follow several Youtube channels, two on archeology, a couple on geology, one on anthropology, one on astrophysicis, and (at least) a couple about people restoring old stone cottages in Europe, which was my original dream.

After working with my grandson over the previous few weeks, developing a Youtube channel for him and his parkour adventures, and in the eerie silence of his now absence, I decided to turn my own cottage builing into a Youtube channel.

No, I do not have delusions of grandeur that a madening rush of people will flock to the site and subscribe or it will “go viral.” That is not my purpose. But when something like cancer robs you of so much of your life, a future, the strength to get out and do things, the life of a mostly-hermit living can get depressing. For this reason I’ve tried to stay pro-active by building this cottage, and now about trying to learn videography and editing to prodcue a “show.” I don’t want followers who come out of pity, but who are truly interested. I do this mostly for my self-interest, to keep my head above the fray, the batle against cancer. Much of it mental.

Unlike my “POST CHRISTIAN” Vlog, this one will certainly not be controversial (except for those skilled builders who think I’m a raging lunatic). I will share thoughts about illness, building, and life now and them, but nothing that is radical.

Because I did not have a camera or the inspiration to create a Youtube channel last spring when I started this project, I will mostly be playing catch up for the first 4-5 episodes. Much of that material I’ve already posted here in this blog. You are welcome to join me from the begining or wait until I annouce here that I’ve caught up the videos and now am filming in real time. If you subscribe, my new videos will be listed each time you go to Youtube. If you click on the bell for notifications, you will get a notice each time I upload a new video.

I suspect, just as my carpentry skills have improved drastly, since last spring, my videography and editing skills will likewise improve as we go along.
