Health Update

It has been an interestning 24 hours. I was once again reminded how fragile my immune system is. Two hours after finishing this video, I sat down to watch the Oscars with Denise, my son, Tyler and his wife Katie. Within the first hour of the show, I suddenly became seriously ill, high temperature (103.5 F), falling blood pressure, and unrelenting projectile vommiting and diarrhea. To make a long story short, we went to the Emergency Department where labs suggested I had septicemia, possible related to salmonella from eating (by accident) an undercooked egg that morning.

So, a night of IV antiobiotics and rehydration I returned home this morning, where I seem to be making slow progress toward recovery. I must be more careful of what goes into my mouth.

    Hello Mike, I just watched your latest episode of the Healing Hut. So much work….such beautiful materials! I look forward to each episode. I like that you pronounce the word “sauna”like the Finnish population does around here. My husband is half Finnish and he always says “sowna” like all the Finn’s that live around us. Many people say “sawna”. You have it right! So sorry about your sudden illness and overnight hospital stay. Take care…your friend, Mary

      I certainly learned the proper way to say sauna when we lived in Houghton for a year. Our first visitor was a neighbor who came to invite us to sawna with them.
