New Healing Hut Episode

Below is my latest The Healing Hut, episode (23) where I drywall the first floor, build a shower, deal with a persistent leak around the chimney, and restore an old apothecary box. Thanks for watching as I continue this journey in my battle against Multiple Myeloma and renal failure. Mike

Wonderful Mike. I watched this at mid morning, here in Ak. I also posted a comment on YouTube; but not sure if I did that correctly so you & others can see it. So pleased you had a lovely Christmas with 4 of your kids & poses staying over! I’m always relieved your health is holding up, with those monthy Chemo treatments and all. The cottage is looking so good!! A long way, you have come, and yes: a long way to still go, but you will make it. Your sheer grit and drive, defies logic.

Your blog articles continue to inspire me. I’ve been revising my current chapter, Origins of the Cosmos and Human Life, for my book: Worn Travellers. (oof: I started this chapter in 2015 but are making big changes to it. After 5 months of work, I feel I am finally getting there: albeit I now draw on and have used 65 Endnotes from other sources, including yours). I’ve used some quotes from your articles. When I”m finally, reasonably happy with my final edits I will send this chapter to you to read, out of courtesy to see if you are happy with me using some of your work.

I have a lot of sympathy for you on the physical side of things while making time to write. I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica last year (could barely walk, couldn’t lift my arms above waist and couldn’t bend over). Am on steroids: prednisone, but can’t stay on high dose as it impacts on 4 other conditions I have: glaucoma (I take drops), cataracts, high blood pressure ( I take 2 lots of meds for that) and osteoporosis. I have been well enough to return to a few teaching days of relieving as my Superannuation doesn’t pay enough for my mortgage, at 72 & 31 years as a divorced mum. I press on.

    Cheers Mike.

I am sorry for your diagnosis of PMR. Because I worked in headache disorders and the presenting symptom of some PMR is temporal arteritis, I got to follow many patients with PMR (and send them to the rheumatologist). Yet, another terrible disease. Was the manuscript I review of yours a few years ago part of Worn Travellers? I remember I was most impressed with your writing. I am now reading Stephen Meyer’s new book, The Return of the God Hypothesis, which is quite good and I think you would enjoy it. Take care.
