UPDATE: 2/27/19

The Day they Wheels Came off the Plan

I’ve carefully edited this post to reflect developments by the end of the day. So, in summary, I was supposed to have important labs done on Monday (to see if the chemo is working and to monitor my renal function). However, those orders got lost. It was a long, tedious process getting those orders through. They finally fell through at the end of the day today.

But it was a frustrating experience to know that I had to have labs done on Monday, yet, the electronic orders did not come up. It took about eight phone calls and two visits to iron this out.

But labs are now done, but I don’t have results at this time, due to the delay.Β  Mike

Now see why your patients love you so much as you really listen and care and follow up with them

Send me some blood. I can at least do some serum electrophoresis and give you rough FLC and IgG numbers in a few hours. Of course, it wouldn’t be CLIA certified or anything.

Mike, so sorry you are on the other side of this as a patient, not the health care provider this time and things are so screwed up. This is the stuff I have heard for 30+years as a front desk receptionist with patients being so upset. The scary thought is like you said that they are truly messing with peoples lives. Sad to say but it has become the bottom dollar and drs are being forced to see more and more patients in less and less time, and you Mike get to suffer not just emotionally but possibly worse physically and it’s just plain scary!!! Praying for you in this mess!! πŸ™πŸ™

Not whining but the cold harsh reality of what you’re dealing with. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through along with unfortunately many in our health care system :-(. Still with you with love and prayers
