An Inspiration for The Stones of Yemen

It was in the summer of 1981 that I first became acquainted with the Arab world and grew to love the people while working in Abu Dhabi and Oman as a physician associate student. I draw from that experience, plus many others, for the development of the story in The Stones of Yemen. A mind-blowing read, and I can’t say that about my other books.

  1. That also was the summer I worked as student nurse in South Sudan, east Africa and Denise In UAE. I’m thinking you two met that summer? Hard to imagine that was over 40 years ago! Very memorable in many ways for me.
